Our Programmes
At NZ Fashion Tech our programme content is directly linked to industry needs. This ensures that your new skills are in demand and that you can look forward to a bright and exciting future in fashion.
Our helpful, caring and supportive tutorial staff have years of valuable industry experience to share.
We use a process of step by step learning, blending industry specific skills, communication, work and study skills. An average ratio of 15 students per tutor, allowing for the individual learning needs of students.
A key component to our programmes is our requirement for compulsory work experience placement for students. This is a valuable introduction to the industry and often leads to employment opportunities - Take a look at our success stories for examples of this in action.
Over 270 graduates have been placed in full time employment in the last 2 years.
NZ Fashion Tech is considered one of the best technical trainers in the country by the Apparel and Textile Industry Training Organisation (ATITO) Our highly sought after Certificates and Diploma are backed by NZQA National Qualifications.

Certificate in Garment Technology
This level 3 programme gives graduating students a wide range of core production skills common to all sewn products industries.
It can lead to entry level employment as a machine operator, production or cutting room assistant, provide pathways into specific sections of the industry and is a firm foundation for further career development.

Certificate in Pattern Design
This level 3 programme builds on skills learnt in the Certificate in Garment Technology programme and offers a wide range of core pattern making, cutting and production skills.
It can lead to entry level employment opportunities such as machinist or trainee sample machinist with entry level pattern making/cutting skills, junior pattern maker, assistant cutter, or production assistant, and provide pathways into specific sections of the industry.

Diploma in Fashion Technology
This level 5 programme is designed to follow NZ Fashion Tech’s Certificate programmes and provide an opportunity for people with core skills and interest in the fashion industry.
You will gain an advanced qualification that will increase their prospects of employment.
It offers textile, apparel and production technology, specification sheet production, CAD CAM, and advanced skills in pattern making and garment construction culminating in a runway presentation of student designed garments.
