The excitement is building!
So far our Director, Val Marshall-Smith has presented the brief to all our Diploma students, followed by the students picking a number from a hat. That number correlated to a number on a brown paper bag that contained a beautiful silk sari from southern India. These sari's have been colour matched to a Resene Colour of Fashion colour. The brief, the sari and the colour test pot are the inspiration for the students to begin the design process toward their Resene NZ Fashion Tech Colour of Fashion final garment. Watch the students' excitement at their briefing day.
Next, the students presented their designs on mood boards and storyboards to Val and their tutors for design approval. Once approved, the real work begins - testing their design with calico toiles. Testing, re-testing, adapting and....getting it right!
To come will be constructing their designs in their silk.... we can hardly wait!
With judging day looming after completion, 10 lucky students will win the opportunity to open the Resene Designer Showcases at NZ Fashion Week 2017!
