Schools
We work closely with schools, helping them to understand the employment and career opportunities within the New Zealand and international fashion industry.
We provide opportunities for students to come and visit NZFT and take part in Gateway, Work Choice and STAR Programmes.
HETTANZ
NZ Fashion Tech have spoken at HETTANZ conferences
and formed relationships with many of their members.
What is HETTANZ?
HETTANZ is the Home Economics and Technology Teachers’ Association of New Zealand Inc. It is the official subject association for teachers of year 0-13 children, students and all interested parties in areas of home economics, technology and allied subjects of fashion and design, textiles, soft materials, health, human development, human nutrition, hospitality and life sciences education.
HETTANZ is seen as a vital and visible organization, who actively work towards the objectives set and provide quality services and resources for its members.
HETTANZ offer many benefits to teachers and students which are part of the wider family that we seek to make a difference for.
Other members include those in associated areas, such as career services, tertiary training, local government, private business and industry training organisations.
NZFT and HETTANZ
NZ Fashion Tech were invited by HETTANZ to speak at their conference and regional meetings and have carried out workshops with them and their members.
We have formed relationships with many of the members of HETTANZ and continue to support the work of their organisation.
We feel it is an important resource for teaching professionals throughout New Zealand.
